Roll Tide Baby!

We got Harper all dressed up for game day since she's our little good luck charm! She was a doll! It was so sweet that she let us take a million pictures of her!

With Daddy before he went to the game.

Roll Tide!

Safe in Daddy's hands

Can we please never forget moments like these!

Home at last!

My Grandmother made the beautiful smocked gown and bonnet that Harper is wearing in these pictures, and Grandmommy crocheted the blanket with the pretty fringe. It was a special dress for a special day of coming home. I was happy that the doctors released us on Wednesday. We left the hospital just after lunch. It was so hard to get enough rest in the hospital and the bed was made for someone much smaller than me. I felt like I was going to slide off the end of the bed the whole time! Being home has been much more comfortable and I've had my pick of help since my family was here during the holiday.

Ready to leave the hospital!

Getting a sponge bath

Harper was so cute during her first sponge bath. She didn't seem to mind the water too much and smelled so good and clean when we were done!

Time at the hospital

These are all from the hospital. One night they brought Harper back from the nursery in this cap with the floppy bow. It was about 4am but Ken still managed to get up and take a picture! It was too cute!

Daddy and Harper getting some snuggle time.

All "burritoed" up

Sweet feet:)

The Happy Grandparents

Mom and Dad are thrilled to (finally!) be grandparents! Mom hopes to be Mimi and Dad is testing out Papa J:)

Grandmommy and Daddy Ray were happy to meet their 8th grandbaby!

Some visitors at the hospital

Of course everyone wanted to come and meet our little Harper! We didn't get a picture of everyone who stopped by, but these are a few we did get. It was fun to have everyone share in the excitement of her arrival-and to know that Ken and I aren't the only ones goofy over her!

5 days and counting!

Well, it's getting close now! I'll go for my final check-up tomorrow and then go in Monday at 10:30AM. We are all ready at the house and looking forward to a very happy Thanksgiving! I'm feeling okay, just big and ready! :) I'll probably post one more picture of myself from this weekend and then the next posts will be of sweet little Harper!

Ready for baby!

Ken and I take a walk with Shady and think about the excitement of our soon-to-be growing family. Shady can't wait to be a "big sis"

What a beautiful day!!!

Today was just beautiful and we decided we should definitely spend some time outside! Mom and Dad were here for the weekend and got to come along before heading back to Muscle Shoals. They doted on me, which I love:) and I know to enjoy it while I can because as soon as Harper is here it will be all about her, of course! I'm feeling good, but bigger and slower by the day...we are all placing bets on whether or not I make it to the 24th! As long as she's all "done", then I will be happy for her to come whenever she pleases!

I'm pretty sure there is one like this when I was a baby!

Anyone excited about a grandchild?!

I am lucky to have such wonderful parents! :)

And the winner is...

Just wanting to include a post to record the election results on Harper's blog. Tonight brings disappointing results for me, personally, but our democratic nation has spoken and that is the way freedom works. At least my daughter will be born into a nation of opportunity.  I just pray that with this historic election comes a peace and perhaps satisfaction that can bring some unification and contentment among the nation.

The cynic in me says that really what makes one candidate any better or worse than the other anyway? They can't really change things on their own...I think that John McCain's concession speech was very graceful and an example of the attitude we need to take regarding the whole situation (for now).  I just hope the other camp can be as graceful with the win...and can we please not have to see Jesse Jackson crying?!
