Blog Appearance

Hopefully you have noticed a change for the better on the blog's appearance. I tried to get all html savvy and update it, only to find out that it looked fantastic on MY computer, but weird on everyone else's....so back to the drawing board I went.  I think I've fixed it and you shouldn't have to scroll so far down to see the posts!

Harper's Christening

We had a wonderful time visiting with my side of the family this past weekend. Ken and I loaded up a sleeping Harper Friday night and made the trek to Muscle Shoals. Sweet little angel slept the whole way & didn't even wake when we took her out of the car seat and put her into bed! Saturday was spent hanging with the fam'. It isn't often that all four of us kids are home at the same time.

PaPa's 90th birthday was Sunday!!! We decided to have Harper's christening the same day so that we could honor the oldest and the youngest members of our clan! It was so special to have it in the Campground Methodist Church that my great-grandfather helped build. There is a lot of love in that little building! MaMa brought the baptism water from the spring that runs by their house. We were glad to be surrounded by so much family. Even Aunt Connie (special thanks to her for Harper's beautiful dress) and some of her crew were able to make it down.  It was a great time all-around!

Six Month Stats

I completely forgot to mention that we took Harper for her 6-month check-up the morning we left for the beach. Everything was fine & she weighed in at 15 pounds, 14 ounces and was 27 1/4" long! She can sit by herself for a bit, but you still have to stay nearby to catch her if she leans too far. Or, as long as she doesn't have too much force, she will just lean over and move to her tummy. She twists and turns and kinda creeps all over the floor. We are really going to have to do some baby-proofing soon!

Harper continues to be eager to try new foods. So far she hasn't rejected anything. I had to thin the sweet potatoes down a little bit and she LOVED the applesauce! She is still breastfeeding and taking a bottle from Ken in the morning and 1 or 2 bottles at daycare in the afternoon. So basically, she is growing like a weed!!!
