A Growing Girl

It was another fun weekend. Mom, aka Mimi, came Friday afternoon and kept Harper while Ken did some stuff. They also played while I cleaned house on Saturday. I even got my sweaters put away and spring clothes put out! Mom also watched Harper that evening so that Ken and I could go out and eat dinner. It was so fun to have a nice dinner together. We even got to meet some friends out for a little bit before heading home. It was a great outing and still only 2 1/2 hours!

Harper had her 4 month visit with the pediatrician yesterday. It was a good check-up and she weighs 13 pounds 13 ounces and is 25 inches long! It's crazy to know she's grown 5 inches in 4 months! She is laughing more now and grabbing for everything. It's like in these last couple of weeks she has really started to see the world around her. She loves being outside!

Four Months Already!

It is hard to believe that it has already been four months since we brought sweet Harper home. They have been some of the most trying, yet amazing at the same time, months I've ever had. I definitely have much more appreciation for all mothers. Being a mother is the most wonderful thing and I've really pulled out strength (and courage) I didn't even know I had. Of course I'm still extremely sleepy/tired/dirty, but things are now starting to become more routine. It's all getting easier every day!

I know I couldn't do it with out Ken's help. He helps keep the household running since I feel like I'm in "survival" mode most of the time. Seriously, I forget everything these days. People told me that it would happen but I just didn't think it would be so bad. I have been keeping a list of questions for the doctor for Harper's next appointment, and I was needing to add one to the list when the pen ran out of ink. I was like "quick, find a pen before I forget what I need to write down!" What an adjustment it must be for him to now live with crazy-absentminded-survival mode-mommy-Stacey!

Harper had her 4 month shots today. That's so tough to watch her go through, even if it is for her own good. I think this time was worse (on me) than the first. Poor little thing screamed so loud at first, but calmed down as soon as I picked her up. After a dose of Children's Tylenol she went right to sleep. Of course I returned to work with a good drool dribble's worth of said Children's Tylenol on my top! That's how most of the wardrobe is these days:)

As I've been looking back at the blog postings tonight, it's funny that in the last couple of weeks I've had Harper back and forth in sweaters, hats & coats and then tank tops & sunsuits. This transitional weather is weird. I'm ready for the warm to stay!

Harper has her next doctor visit next week. I can't wait to see how much she weighs and how long she is. I can tell when I'm feeding and rocking her that she has gotten longer! She is holding her head up very steady now and can sit in the Bumbo seat without slumping over. Not rolling over yet, but she is pushing with her legs so hard that it can't be too far away. We'll really be keeping up with her then! She is "talking" and being even more social, and during our after work stroll today I noticed that she was really looking at all of the trees and outside things. She's the best thing I've ever done for sure.

Thanks for keeping up with us!

Sunday Afternoon

Harper loves the little birds next to the changing table. She "talks" to them and gets very excited! I think she wants them to make a noise back!

Ready for a ride!

Sitting up like a big kid in the Bumbo seat. Thank you Mr. & Mrs. Cochran!

Wiggling Around

Where did everyone go?

Ah, there they are!

More Fun in the Sun

Another pretty day equals more time outside on the blanket! Daddy even fixed the umbrella for us so that we wouldn't get too much sunshine. Harper loves being outside and feeling the wind blow on her face. Every time that it did, she would squint her eyes and smile.  So cute!

What a fun warm day!!!

Wasn't today beautiful?! We decided that with such a nice warm day, that we should take a walk at the park! After lunch we loaded up and went to pick up Natalie and Anderson to take a stroll around the Riverwalk. It is a nice trail and I think that Anderson really enjoyed it in his fun wagon:) Harper, on the other hand, decided to cry about 3/4 of the walk! Mommy ended up holding her and pushing an empty stroller...oh well, better luck next time. Of course, as soon as we finished the walk and were loading back up into the car, she was all smiles and like, "hey, let's take a stroll guys..."Gotta love it!

Aaah, we got home and played in the swing outside. Natalie and Anderson came over to eat burgers and hang out. They were so good just chillin' on a blanket in the yard. Anderson is getting so big & smart! He's babbling up a storm and likes to call everything "ball" right now! He had the most fun pretending that Shady was "gonna get him" and crawling away from her real fast. I don't think Shady even knew this little game was going on, but Anderson LOVED it!

I love outside!

So serious!

There's a smile!

Future's so bright, gotta wear shades!

Yep, I'm a cutie!

Snow Bunny!

We bundled Harper up to see her first snow! What a fun event for her at 14 weeks! It was so pretty early Sunday morning. I can't believe how hard it snowed!

Ken built a snowman. He had to find something quick for the eyes and nose--yes, those are bottle lids & a cap!

Our house covered in a blanket of snow!
